Free profinite locally idempotent and locally commutative semigroups
This paper is concerned with the structure of semigroups of implicit operations on the pseudovariety LSl of finite locally idempotent and locally commutative semigroups. We depart from a general result of Almeida and Weil to give two descriptions of these semigroups: the first in terms of infinite words, and the second in terms of infinite and bi-infinite words. We then derive some applications...
متن کاملFree Vibration of a Generalized Plane Frame
This article deals with the free in-plane vibration analysis of a frame with four arbitrary inclined members by differential transform method. Based on four differential equations and sixteen boundary and compatibility conditions, the related structural eigenvalue problem will be analytically formulated. The frequency parameters and mode shapes of the frame will be calculated for various values...
متن کاملOn Commutative Context-Free Languages
Let C = {a,, a2, . . . . a,} be an alphabet and let LcZ* be the commutative image of FP* where F and P are finite subsets of Z*. If, for any permutation c of { 1,2, . . . . n}, L n a&) a%, is context-free, then L is context-free. This theorem provides a solution to the Fliess conjecture in a restricted case. If the result could be extended to finite unions of the FP* above, the Fliess conjectur...
متن کاملA Class of Locally Nilpotent Commutative Algebras
This paper deals with the variety of commutative nonassociative algebras satisfying the identity Lx + γLx3 = 0, γ ∈ K. In [2] it is proved that if γ = 0, 1 then any finitely generated algebra is nilpotent. Here we generalize this result by proving that if γ 6= −1, then any such algebra is locally nilpotent. Our results require characteristic 6= 2, 3.
متن کاملOn the power-commutative kernel of locally nilpotent groups
A group G is called power commutative, or a PC-group, if [xm, yn] = 1 implies [x, y] = 1 for all x, y ∈G such that xm = 1, yn = 1. So power-commutative groups are those groups in which commutativity of nontrivial powers of two elements implies commutativity of the two elements. Clearly, G is a PC-group if and only if CG(x) = CG(x) for all x ∈ G and all integers n such that xn = 1. Obvious examp...
